Wayne County Rapper King Moe Charts Independent Path

Terrence Lemont Faison, known professionally as King Moe, is carving out an independent niche in the rap world, emphasizing his journey from poverty to musical success.
Faison, born and raised in Wayne County, describes himself as "the last of the real," having navigated two generations of rap. He says his story is one of overcoming adversity, transitioning from a childhood marked by poverty to military service and then to a career as a rapper.
"I don’t feel like I’m in the music industry," Faison said. "I’m on my own playing field. It’s just me and my supporters and God. I’m a lone wolf at war with packs of wolves, and I’m coming out on top every time."
A significant milestone for King Moe has been reaching 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. His song "TNS First" has collectively garnered 1 million streams. He has also production credits for Cash Money/Young Money artist Kidd Kidd on the song "Same Shoes," featuring FL Dusa, from the album "Street Fame."
Faison identifies poverty as his greatest challenge, along with the struggle to "stay alive and simultaneously get out the rat race." He said overcoming his own internal struggles was equally difficult.
Looking ahead, King Moe envisions touring internationally and selling out shows while maintaining his independence. He said his primary career goal is to create generational wealth and use his success to provide for those in need.
"My only dream in my career is to create generational wealth through this skill set I was blessed with," Faison said. "As well as being able to feed and provide shelter for those without worldwide. I want to use my success to be of service to the people."
He encourages listeners to "spread the word of who King Moe is," hoping to become a favored artist.
"Tell it all. I’m an open book," he said.
King Moe's current focus is promoting his new music video, "Digital Scale," from his upcoming project, "Rich Rapper."
