Indianapolis Rapper Gen5deuce Releases Debut Album, Voices Street Narratives

INDIANAPOLIS — Gen5deuce, a rapper from the far east side of Indianapolis, released his debut album on March 8, featuring 10 tracks that delve into the realities of street life and personal struggles.

Gen5deuce, who started rapping a year and a half ago after the death of a friend to gun violence, has quickly gained recognition for his raw and relatable lyrics. He has been called the "hood poet of Indianapolis" and has garnered attention on platforms like SayCheese.

"I'm a regular person like everyone else," Gen5deuce said. "What makes me stand out is my spirit and me not thinking I'm better than anyone, knowing that I'm blessed to be alive and see the progress I'm earning and grateful for it all."

The rapper aims to be a voice for those who can relate to his experiences, focusing on "pain music" and opening eyes to a different life. He hopes to use his music to create a financially stable environment for his family and demonstrate that dedication can lead to success.

"I'm a person who’s overcoming a lot of adversity and can relate to many people that are following a path to be better and prove the people that have doubted me through life wrong," he said.

Gen5deuce's album is available now. He envisions his music career leading to a future where he can provide for his family and inspire others to pursue alternative paths to success.
